We undertake independent reviews of local councils to establish whether their existing policy settings will achieve a satisfactory outcome between the four competing goals of sustainability:

  • Sustainable services,
  • Sustainable infrastructure,
  • Affordable rates, fees and charges, and
  • Sustainable finances.

We have done eleven in-depth reviews for the Councils of Newcastle, Albury, Wollongong, Great Lakes, Greater Taree, Armidale, Dubbo, Bega, Queanbeyan, Palerang and Queanbeyan-Palerang-Region.

We have also done desktop reviews for 26 metropolitan, regional and rural councils, helped six councils and ROCs with assessing merger proposals and assisted 20 councils to make a joint submission to the Commonwealth Grants Commission.
